Changing Our Lifestyle
Before we really dive into our main topic, let’s take a brief look at our lifestyle. Are we eating right, exercising at least thrice a week and having a fixed sleeping schedule? If not, these are the crucial habits that we should be changing. These habits do not only affect our health, but they also affect our overall performance in life. Many people these days, due to the workloads and the time they get home, tend to forget all these crucial aspects. It is completely understandable. We are living in the millennial world where we couldn’t even have time for ourselves. However, it is still important for us to bear in mind that our health is the most precious gift that God has given to us and it is our duty to maintain it.
3 Main Steps for a Better Health
Now, we really are diving into our topic. There are numerous ways to get better health, but these five steps are the prominent ones and should not be taken lightly. These steps can be done by everyone despite their age or gender. We should really take this matter seriously and begin striving for our health. So, these are the three steps that can be taken to improve our health and lifestyle:
1. Eat a Balanced Diet
You probably have heard this a million times before. Eating a balanced and healthy diet is the first step to change for better health and a future. A balanced diet consists of everything that is in the food pyramid. As usual, the smallest part of the pyramid is fat and oil, which should be taken the least and in moderation. It is followed by the protein section. Meat, fish and anything that is similar should be taken in moderation too. After this section, we will have the vitamin section and lastly carbohydrate. If you follow this pyramid, you can achieve a balanced diet. This has been taught since primary school and should be followed until today.
2. Exercise Regularly
Experts suggest that we get 150 minutes of exercise every week. Exercising at least three times a week is the minimum effort and we are welcome to do more than that. However, do not get too excited and overexaggerate it as it could be harmful to our organs. Common exercises that we can do are brisk walking, rope jumping, push-ups, sit-ups, and jogging. Some of these activities are suitable to be done at home. If you don’t have enough space at your home, you can do activities such as push-ups and sit-ups which don’t require much space usage.
3. Fixing Sleep Schedule
This is probably the hardest thing to do. Many people get home at night and sometimes they finish their remaining work at home. Without noticing that the clock is ticking, sometimes they go to bed late and then repeat the same schedule when the day has arrived. This should be changed instantly. Many critical illnesses await you if this continues and even worse, it can lead to death.
As mentioned before, our health is such a precious gift. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to enjoy this. Therefore, we should do our best to both maintain and improve it.
